New Delhi:  Several airports including Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Amritsar and Chandigarh were closed for civilian operation, airport sources said on Wednesday.

Later, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) informed that suspended commercial operations resumed in all airports.

According to informed sources, the airports' facilities were being used by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Consequently, it was informed that no commercial operation would take place in these airports. Several flights to and from these airports were either diverted or put on hold.

"Due to airspace restrictions, flights to and from Amritsar, Srinagar, Chandigarh and Jammu are currently on hold. Customers are requested to check flight status before commencing their journey to the airport," Air Vistara had tweeted at that stage.
