Bomb threat to Kerala Secretariat turns out fake
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Police headquarters on Thursday received an anonymous call threatening that a bomb had been placed in the state Secretariat, which turned out to be a hoax.
The call was received at around 11 a.m.
The state Secretariat is where the offices of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other state ministers are housed.
Immediately after receiving the call, police personnel, aided by sniffer dogs, conducted thorough searches both inside and outside the Secretariat premises. Parked vehicles and nearby shops were also searched by the police team.
At the same time, another team of police traced down the caller to Pozhiyoor, a coastal hamlet in the capital city and found that the caller was suspected to be a mentally unstable person.
Meanwhile, the police team conducting a search at the complex came up with nothing, leading it to conclude that it was a hoax call.
