BJP targets Muslim homes next on Eid in Kerala after their Easter visits
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: BJP's minority reach-out programme in Kerala will continue as directed by senior BJP leader and party's Kerala in-charge Prakash Javadekar. As per that, the state leaders have decided to visit Muslim homes on Eid. On Easter, similar visits by state leaders were made in Christian houses.
The BJP's minority community reach-out programs, which target minority voters, are aimed at gaining support for the party in the upcoming General Election.
Both Left and Congress slammed the BJP's Easter visits to selected homes and Christian institutions, saying that the saffron party could not win the hearts of Kerala's communally tolerant society by using such gimmicks.
BJP's efforts to reach out to the minority community in Kerala continue, with plans to visit Muslim homes on Eid and open their houses on the day of Vishu for others to join in the celebrations. Prakash Javadekar said that the party aims to unite people from all sections and communities as per the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The CPI(M) has criticized the BJP, pointing out that the RSS had earlier declared minorities, including Christians and Communists, as internal threats to India.
In response, the BJP defended their outreach bid and asserted that both CPI(M) and Congress were anxious about losing their minority vote bank. The BJP's visit to the homes of Christians on Easter day was considered a big success, according to Javadekar.
