Thiruvananthapuram: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan showered praises on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday saying the CPI-M leader has become a ‘Leader of Kerala’ after late Congress veteran K Karunakaran, who was popularly called “Leader”.

“Pinarayi Vijayan, once the CPI-M state secretary, has now become a leader of the state with a strong and practical vision. Earlier we had just one Leader – K Karunakaran. Now, there is another leader and that’s Pinarayi Vijayan. He is my most favorite leader,” Natesan said adding some people were trying to make an issue out of his meeting with the CM at Travelers’ Bungalow in Punalur.

“I agree with the stand that money should not be accepted for admissions in educational institutes. The SNDP is ready to give the colleges and schools under the organization to the government, if demanded,” the Ezhava leader said echoing a stand similar to that of the LDF government on the matter.

Asked about the liquor policy in the state, Vellappally said his opinion was that bars with star quality should be allowed to function.
