Alappuzha: The state faces acute financial crisis due to the closure of bars, says Home Minister, Ramesh Chennithala.
Chennithala said that due to the apparent crisis, new positions could not be created in the Police force. The Minister said that a bill for the establishment of a police University in the capital has been prepared and that T P Sreenivasan would be in charge of the courses.
He said that the government was planning a formation of a new directorate for the student police cadets and the students would be offered to study at the University. The Minister also added that the number of female police staff would be increased by ten percent every year.
