Colombo: A Sri Lankan court on Thursday awarded death penalty to five fishermen from Tamil Nadu for allegedly smuggling drugs.
The fishermen were arrested in 2011 by Sri Lankan Navy.
The fishermen have been given time till November 14 to appeal at the Sri Lankan Supreme Court.
