The United Arab Emirates has agreed to partner with Telangana for the development of Bharat Future City as a leading global city, the Telangana government said on Tuesday.

UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri met a Telangana delegation led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

During the meeting, Al Marri said the UAE government would be happy to join hands with Telangana and proposed setting up a joint task force of officials from both sides to ensure speedy implementation of the project, according to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office.

The discussions focused on cooperation in large infrastructure projects, particularly Bharat Future City.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy outlined the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, which aims to transform the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

He highlighted the scope of Bharat Future City, described as India’s first net-zero greenfield smart city. Spread across 30,000 acres, the project is envisioned as a sustainable urban and industrial hub with dedicated zones for artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, industries, housing, and entertainment.

The Chief Minister said global firms such as Marubeni and Semcorp are already associated with the project. He also referred to a recent memorandum of understanding with Reliance Group’s Vantara to establish a new zoo in the city.

Separately, Saudi-based industrial conglomerate Expertise expressed interest in partnering with Telangana’s Young India Skills University to meet its annual requirement of around 5,000 skilled workers. The Telangana government also said Google has shown interest in working with the state on agriculture and climate change-related issues.
