22 Missing children reunited with families after Ganesh visarjan processions in Mumbai
text_fieldsMumbai: On Saturday, police in Mumbai reported that 22 children who had gone missing during the immersion processions of Ganesha idols at Girgaon Chowpatty have been successfully reunited with their families.
During the final day of the 10-day Ganpati Festival on Thursday, countless individuals gathered at the city's beaches and lakes to immerse the idols of Lord Ganesha.
Families of the missing children, who were between the ages of seven and 14, promptly filed complaints with the DB Marg police station.
In response, senior officials from the city's police force assembled multiple teams to search for the missing children. Authorities also utilised loudspeakers to make appeals for information, with the search continuing throughout Thursday night.
Ultimately, all 22 of the missing children were located. Some of the children were able to recall the phone numbers of their family members, while others provided their home addresses to the police officers. These details allowed them to be safely reunited with their families.
