Peru's "7-foot-tall aliens" revealed as illegal gold miners
text_fieldsLima: Illegal gold mining gangs in Peru were disguising themselves as towering 7-foot aliens to spread terror among local inhabitants.
According to a detailed report by the New York Post, the residents of Alto Nanay, a small settlement nestled within the expansive northern Amazon Basin, reported sightings of these "armoured" and "floating" extraterrestrial beings since mid-July. Remarkably, these alleged aliens were said to be wearing dark-hued hoods and were seemingly impervious to bullets.
Inhabitants of the area even likened these mysterious attackers to "green goblins," with rampant speculation revolving around the so-called "face peelers." The gangs behind this peculiar ruse apparently aimed to instil fear among the local populace, compelling them to remain indoors and away from the illegal gold mines they operated.
The media outlet's report suggests that these mining groups are employing advanced tactics, including the utilisation of jetpacks, to access the otherwise unreachable spots within the dense jungles adjacent to the Nanay River, thereby facilitating their illicit gold mining activities.
Carlos Castro Quintanilla, the Peruvian government's prosecutor overseeing the case, noted, "They would be using state-of-the-art technology, such as thrusters that allow people to fly." These jetpacks were purportedly first employed by these illegal mining syndicates to survey potential gold-rich zones concealed deeper within the forests encompassing the Nanay River region.
The gold-rich Alto Nanay has significant metal deposits lying within its riverbeds, adding another layer of context to the peculiar situation.
The narrative of the "7-foot-tall aliens" emerged on July 11, when local residents began recounting encounters with a towering creature garbed in dark attire. A school teacher, an eyewitness to the events, asserted that this enigmatic figure appeared to be airborne. A particularly concerning incident involved a 15-year-old who sustained a neck injury during one of these attacks, requiring hospitalisation for treatment.
Responding to the escalating situation, the Ikitu community made a plea for military intervention to address the perplexing threat posed by these unconventional assailants.
