FB's former chief of Policy Analyst Radha Iyengar Plumb gets top post at Pentagon
text_fieldsWashington: Indian-American Radha Iyengar Plumb who is currently working as the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary of Defense gets nominated to the post of Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, at the Pentagon by President Joe Biden on Wednesday.
After receiving her Ph.D. and MS in Economics from Princeton University, she started her career as an assistant professor at the London School of Economics.
Plumb is an experienced leader with expertise in technical and analytical skills, policy research, econometrics, trust and safety issues, and project management. She has held many senior staff positions at the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and the White House National Security Council on national security issues.
Being a senior economist at the RAND Corporation, Radha Iyengar focused on evaluating and contributing to improving the measurement and evaluation of readiness and security efforts in the Department of Defense.
She was also the Global Head of Policy Analysis at Facebook. Here she focused on analysing internal security issues.
According to the statements released last month, Indian American career diplomat Gautam Rana will be nominated as the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Slovakia by the President.
Diplomat Puneet Talwar as the country's ambassador to Morocco, Indian-American diplomat Rachna Sachdeva Korhonen as his envoy to Mali, and political activist Shefali Razdan Duggal as his envoy to the Netherlands were nominated by the Whitehouse earlier.
