The “teamLab Borderless” museum, a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture and the Japanese art collective teamLab, has welcomed 52,500 visitors since its opening on June 10, with tickets sold out until August 15.

The museum demonstrates the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to preserving Saudi Arabia's heritage while embracing innovative global artistic and cultural expressions, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.

Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Issa, the Director General of the Jeddah Historic District Program, highlighted the importance of this collaboration. Al-Issa noted that with the backing of Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the museum strengthens the region’s position as a global tourist destination.

The “teamLab Borderless” museum spans 10,000 square meters and showcases over 80 interactive digital art installations. It features sections such as “Borderless World,” “Light Sculpture,” “Athletics Forest,” “Future Park,” “Forest of Lamps,” “EN TEA HOUSE” and “Sketch Factory.”

The museum’s innovative lighting design enhances the artworks displayed on dark, often mirrored floors, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere.

The choice of the Jeddah Historic District for the museum is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, according to the SPA.
