Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned a tragic car-ramming and shooting incident in New Orleans, Louisiana, that claimed the lives of at least 10 people and injured 35 others during New Year’s Eve celebrations.

A 42-year-old Texas man drove a pickup truck into a crowd in the French Quarter before opening fire. The FBI has classified the incident as a potential act of terrorism. The attacker was fatally shot by police after an exchange of gunfire. Authorities later discovered potential homemade explosives in the vehicle and nearby locations, along with a Daesh flag in the truck.

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism. The Kingdom extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the American public, and the United States government. The statement also conveyed wishes for a swift recovery for the injured.

The incident has drawn international condemnation and highlights ongoing global concerns about terrorism and public safety.
