NEET-UG re-exam: NTA releases city intimation slips for June 21 test
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the city intimation slips for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026 re-examination, enabling lakhs of candidates to check their allotted examination cities ahead of the test scheduled for June 21.
Candidates can access and download their city intimation slips by logging into the official NEET portal using their application number and password. The NTA clarified that the document is intended solely to inform candidates about their examination city and should not be mistaken for the admit card.
Announcing the development on the social media platform X on Sunday, the NTA stated: “City Intimation Slip is now LIVE. Candidates can now check their allotted examination city for NEET-UG 2026. Log in with your Application Number and password to view and download your slip.”
The agency further emphasised that the city intimation slip is different from the admit card, which will be issued separately closer to the examination date. “This is the City Intimation Slip — NOT the Admit Card. The Admit Card will be released separately, closer to the exam date,” the NTA said.
The release of the city intimation slips comes amid the aftermath of the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, which triggered widespread protests and led to the cancellation of the nationwide examination conducted on May 3.
The re-examination is scheduled to be held on June 21, with approximately 23 lakh candidates expected to appear. According to the official notification, the examination will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
The test will be held across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
City intimation slips are issued in advance to help candidates identify their examination locations, allowing them to make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements ahead of the test. The measure is aimed at ensuring candidates can reach their centres on time and focus on their preparations without logistical concerns.
