Three killed as KSRTC bus rams into lorry in Kollam

Kollam: Three people were killed and twenty four got injured when a KSRTC bus rammed into a lorry near Ithikkara Bridge in Kottayam on Monday morning.

Eight people are in critical condition, reports say.

KSRTC bus driver Aneez, conductor P.T Subhash and lorry driver Ganesh died in the early morning accident.

The mishap occurred at 6.50 am, when Thiruvanthapurm-bound KSRTC bus collided with Coimbatore-bound lorry.

Lorry driver spent more than an hour in the wreckage before police and fire brigadiers hauled him out dead.

Injured ones including seven women were admitted to nearby hospitals.

It is believed that one of the drivers may have been sleep-driving.
