File affidavit by September 20 on condition of Kochi roads: HC to PWD

Kochi: The High Court Tuesday directed the Public Works Department to file an affidavit by September 20 detailing the action taken to repair roads in Kochi after interim orders were issued prior to court closing for the Onam vacation.

The order in this regard was issued by Justice A Mohammed Mustaque on a petition by R Rangadasa Prabhu, representing an apex council of residential associations, on the sorry state of roads in this city.

The court held that filing reports one by one would not be a solution. Government should inform the court by affidavit as to what action it has taken in pursuant to the court orders.

The Court granted time till Sept 20 to file the affidavit.
