Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) leader P C George on Sunday said that the beer and wine parlours in the State should be allowed to function.
“Beer and wine parlours should be exempted from the ban. The bar hotels that were asked to shut down should be permitted to open beer-wine parlours,” George said.
That is the better way to save the people from alcohol addiction, he added.
The government Chief Whip further said that the Kerala Congress (M) and party chairman K M Mani were of the same opinion.
George also said that he would raise the issue in the UDF meeting.
