ICAR to withdraw a'ditation to KAU courses if act not amended
text_fieldsThrissur: Accreditation to courses run by Kerala Agricultural University would be withdrawn by Indian Council of Agricultural Council if the KAU Act was not amended on the lines of the model ICAR Act, a top official has said.
Speaking to reporters here, University Vice chancellor Dr P Rajenderan said the last date for amending the Act was Oct 31, which ICAR had repeatedly asked KAU to do. As the amendment to it was the prerogative of the State legislature, he had written to the Government in this regard months back.
As there was no response from the Government, he had also written to the Kerala Governor by virtue of being the Chancellor of the KAU, he said.
To a query on the withdrawal of accreditation to KAU's Co-operation and Banking College, he said the ICAR Director General had assured him of a review of the decision.
However, it also depended on the amendment of the KAU Act in adherence with the model ICAR Act, he said.
