Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's son Zain passed away at 26

New York: The 26-year-old Zain Nadella, the son of Microsoft Corp CEO Satya and his wife Anu Nadella, died today. Zain had been suffering from cerebral palsy since his birth.

Microsoft Corp in an email announcing the death urged its staff to include Nadella family in their prayers and thoughts and honour their space to grieve privately.

The experience while raising Zain has prompted Nadella to design and develop products for people with disabilities for their easy functioning.

Last year, the Children's Hospital, where Zain received much of his treatment, joined with the Nadellas to establish the Zain Nadella Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosciences, as part of Seattle Children's Center for Integrative Brain Research.
