Mumbai: Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan shared glimpses from a work shoot days after reports about his hospitalisation surfaced online, assuring fans with a note centred around work and dedication.

Taking to his blog, the megastar posted pictures from a shoot and wrote: “… work work work .. and work more .. work be the language extempore ..… work that which .. conveys .. growth fulment and self respect (sic).”

The update comes five days after reports claimed that Bachchan had been admitted to the VIP wing of Nanavati Hospital on May 16 due to stomach-related issues. However, later reports stated that the actor had undergone a routine medical check-up, was discharged soon after, and returned home.

A day after the hospitalisation reports emerged, the actor shared a cryptic blog post beginning with verses from the Ramcharitmanas and ended it with wishes of “love”.

Writing on his blog at 12:19 am on Wednesday, Bachchan began with the dateline: “Peel Pilwadi, Mumbai, May 19, 2026 / May 20,” followed by the verse: “Mangal Bhavan Amangal Haari.”

The 83-year-old actor then penned a poetic note in Hindi: “Cheel jab hove shaant toh bhaiya, tote bolan shuru karein. Ir bir fatte, kahan ‘chal hamau’, pilave shuru karein!!!! Bajre di roti kha di, phoo padiyon da saag re. Munh mein daalan laage jaise, bolan laage kaag re!!!!! Ek rahe ‘Hill’ bhaiya ki padhai ka darpan; Aur doosar Wellington ki yaad!!.”

He concluded the post with: “Love, Prayers and more.”

On the work front, Bachchan was last seen in Vettaiyan, directed by T. J. Gnanavel. The film also featured Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami and Ramesh Thilak.

He is currently working on Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and co-starring Kamal Haasan and Prabhas.

Bachchan is also reportedly set to appear in Ramayana: Part 1 by Nitesh Tiwari. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol, with Bachchan reportedly playing the role of Jatayu.
