New Delhi, March 25 — The government on Wednesday clarified that there has been no change in LPG refill booking timelines and assured that adequate stocks are available across the country.

In a statement, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said it had come to its notice that certain media reports and social media posts were claiming revised refill timelines—45 days for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana connections, 25 days for non-Ujjwala single-bottle connections, and 35 days for non-Ujjwala double-bottle connections.

Dismissing these claims, the ministry stated that no such revisions had been made. It reiterated that the existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged at 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of the type of connection.

The clarification followed widespread speculation online that triggered panic booking among consumers. The ministry urged the public to refrain from unnecessary bookings and advised against believing or circulating misinformation.

Reassuring consumers, the government said sufficient LPG stocks are available in the country and there is no cause for concern.

Meanwhile, the crude oil carrier Jag Laadki reached Mundra Port in Gujarat last week, following the successful docking of LPG carriers Shivalik on March 16 and Nanda Devi on March 17.

The vessel had earlier faced a scare while loading cargo at Fujairah Port in the United Arab Emirates on March 14, when Iran allegedly attacked the oil terminal. However, no damage to the ship or injuries to the crew were reported.
