Actress Gautami Tadimalla resigns from BJP after 25 years, alleges betrayal by party leaders

Actor-politician Gautami Tadimalla has resigned from the BJP after 25 years, citing allegations that certain party leaders had supported an individual who she claimed had "betrayed and cheated" her.

In a letter shared on social media, Gautami expressed her severe disappointment, noting her critical situation in life and the lack of support from the party. She further claimed that some party leaders were actively assisting C Alagappan, who allegedly deceived her by taking her property, money, and documents.

She addressed BJP President JP Nadda and the party's Tamil Nadu chief K Annamalai in her post, emphasising her decision to resign "in great pain and sorrow" but with a strong determination.

She recounted that approximately two decades ago, Alagappan had approached her during a vulnerable and isolated period in her life. As an orphan who had recently lost both parents and was raising an infant child as a single mother, she fell prey to Alagappan's alleged deceit.

He had insinuated himself and his family into her life by posing as a caring elder. At that time, she entrusted him with the sale and documentation of several of her properties. She later discovered he had defrauded her while feigning to welcome her and her daughter as part of his family.

Gautami emphasised that she is pursuing justice as a lone woman and single parent. She concluded her letter by acknowledging that her 25-year journey with the BJP had reached its conclusion.
