The Queen's Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy gets married in an Italian ceremony
text_fieldsHollywood sensation Anya Taylor-Joy and musician Malcolm McRae have officially tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony in Venice, Italy, over the weekend.
The 27-year-old star of "The Queen's Gambit" and her 29-year-old musician beau celebrated their love in a dreamy setting.
The enchanting wedding took place at the stunning Palazzo Pisani Moretta, a location known for its timeless beauty. The bride, Anya Taylor-Joy, looked radiant as she stood on a balcony adorned in a long white veil and a custom Dior floral gown. Following the nuptials, the couple enjoyed a terrace brunch at the St. Regis, where Taylor-Joy was described as "a vision," reported People magazine.
The celebration continued with a reception attended by close friends and family.
Among the distinguished guests were Julia Garner, Cara Delevingne, Nicolas Hoult, Miles Teller, and Evan Ross.
Earlier this year, rumors of an impending wedding surfaced when the couple was spotted exploring potential wedding venues in Italy. Their journey to marital bliss began in March 2021 when they first crossed paths at "The Queen's Gambit" premiere.
Malcolm McRae was evidently smitten by Taylor-Joy from the start, composing a song titled "Really Want to See You Again" for her just two days after meeting her. This heartfelt gesture was shared on his Instagram, featuring lyrics like, "I think we're alike in ways that I can't quite explain right / But I might, could with some time / If ever we were in the same place / I want what's right / But I want without warning now / And I think we're wanting something the same."
Their relationship continued to flourish, with McRae expressing his adoration in a July 2021 post, where he affectionately referred to her as "besotted." Another image, accompanied by a caption reading "Oof supremely happy," showcased their joy as a couple.
In February of the same year, Taylor-Joy shared a touching black and white photograph of the couple sharing a kiss amidst a crowd, captioning it with, "We're the same shape. Happy V-Day lovers." Their connection was further highlighted in an April 2022 interview with British Vogue, where Taylor-Joy explained, "I've finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We're basically 80 years old and seven at the same time, and it works really well."
