Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) will expand its fleet after securing 600 additional taxi plates in the latest auction held by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), taking its total number of vehicles to 6,817.

The increase from 6,217 vehicles strengthens DTC’s position as Dubai’s largest taxi operator, lifting its market share to 47 percent.

The company said the new taxis will be introduced in phases starting July 2026 under a structured rollout plan aimed at maintaining operational efficiency and service standards while meeting rising demand for transport across the emirate.

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, Group CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, said the acquisition reflects the company’s expectations for continued growth in Dubai’s mobility sector.

He said demand for transport services is increasing alongside urban development, adding that the company is focused on expanding its operations to meet customer needs.

Alfalasi said the phased rollout is part of a broader strategy to improve asset utilisation, support financial performance and maintain service quality.

The expansion aligns with Dubai government plans to develop an integrated and technology-driven mobility system, improve customer experience and enhance transport efficiency in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
