New Delhi: Actor Shruthi Narayanan addressed the public a day after an alleged casting couch video involving her surfaced online. Taking to Instagram Stories, Shruthi shared a heartfelt note about the difficulties she and her family are facing due to the incident. She also appealed to people to refrain from sharing the video and warned of legal consequences.

In her note, Shruthi wrote, “For you guys, spreading all these contents on me… it’s just a joke and fun content. But for me and my close ones this is a very hard situation.”

Describing the situation as deeply challenging, she expressed, “I am also a girl and have feelings. You guys make it worse.”

In an emotional plea, Shruthi urged people to stop circulating the video, voicing her frustration: “See the videos of your mother, sister, or girlfriend, because they have same body as me.”

Shruthi went on to emphasise the harm caused by sharing such leaked videos, whether real or deepfake. She said, “Start being human, sharing leaked videos, whether real or deepfake, is a criminal offense in India. Here are the legal provisions under which action can be taken.”

She further outlined the legal actions that can be pursued against those who share such content in another Instagram story.

Shruthi Narayanan, who started her career on Tamil television, gained popularity through the serial Siragadikka Aasai.
