Israel is at war with Hamas, not Palestinians: Israel envoy at UN
text_fieldsUnited Nations: Israel's permanent ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan told the General Assembly that Israel is not at war with the Palestinians.
Gilad Erdan added that his country is fighting what he said ‘the genocidal jihadist Hamas terror organization’, invoking Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel.
The special session of UN General Assembly heard the Israel’s representative claiming that Hamas does not care about Palestinian people, peace or dialogue.
Erdan made it clear that his country’s continuing attack ensuing from the ‘October 7th Massacre’, which killed more than thousand Israelis, ‘has nothing to do with the Palestinians, nothing’.
‘Israel is at war with the genocidal jihadist Hamas terror organization only. It is the law-abiding democracy of Israel against modern-day Nazis," he reportedly said.
The envoy alleged that Hamas’ only goal is to murder every single Jew, adding ‘Hamas do not care about the Palestinian people. They do not care about peace or dialogue.’
Erdan asserted that Israel will continue fighting ‘genocidal terrorists committed to Israel's destruction’, and will not rest until Hamas is ‘obliterated and our hostages are returned home’.
He said Hamas committed ‘brutal killings’, and the ‘intentional targeting’ of Israeli medical teams taking care of the injured during the outfit’s attack.
‘Israel's mission is to eradicate this evil from the earth eradicate. ISIS was the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and Hamas is the Islamic State of Gaza. So, just as was done with ISIS, Hamas must be no more,’ Israel's permanent envoy was quoted as saying.
He also added that the whole world will pay the price if Israel fails to completely obliterating “Hamas’ terror capabilities”, expanding further on it that Israel will use ‘every means at our disposal to accomplish this’.
Meanwhile, Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi said Israel is turning Gaza into "hell on earth", adding, ‘We must stand for peace, our human values and the UN Charter.’
