German envoy to India calls out misleading ad with Prez’s residence

New Delhi: Germany's Ambassador to India, Dr. Philipp Ackermann, took to social media on Saturday to draw attention to a misleading advertisement that appeared in a newspaper. The advertisement prominently displayed the German President's residence in Berlin and suggested it was a boarding school.
In his post on X, Ambassador Ackermann expressed his concern by addressing Indian parents directly.
He wrote, “Dear Indian parents - I found this in today’s newspaper. But this building is no boarding school! It is the seat of the German President in Berlin. Our Rashtrapati Bhavan as it were. There are good boarding schools also in Germany - but here, no child will be admitted.”
He also attached the advertisement along with his post.
The advertisement, in question, featured an image of the grand official residence of the German President and falsely suggested that it was associated with admissions to top boarding schools.
This incident serves as a reminder to be vigilant about the authenticity of advertisements and the importance of verifying information, especially when it comes to significant life decisions, such as choosing an educational institution for one's child.
