Sheikh Mohamed discusses regional escalation with Russian President, Greek Prime Minister
text_fieldsPresident Sheikh Mohamed held separate talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing war involving Iran and its wider impact.
During a call with Mr Putin, the leaders reviewed the current military developments and their implications for regional and global security. Discussions also addressed concerns over disruptions to international maritime routes and potential effects on the global economy, according to state news agency Wam.
In a separate conversation, Mr Mitsotakis expressed Greece’s condemnation of attacks targeting the UAE, describing them as violations of sovereignty and international law, including the UN Charter.
The discussions also covered bilateral relations, with both sides exploring ways to strengthen co-operation and advance existing strategic partnerships.
Meanwhile, UAE authorities reported continued defensive operations, stating that air defence systems have engaged 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 1,977 drones since the escalation began.
