Found in bed together, US man beats wife’s lover close to death with a bat

New York: A 33-year-old man in the US is facing charges of attempted murder for beating his wife’s boyfriend.
John Dimmig discovered his wife Christie Barbato at an Airbnb in bed with a colleague who is a CT technician, Fox News reported.
Entering the room, Dimming closed the door behind him before hitting, throwing him down and striking him with a metal object at least for three times, an affidavit said.
CCTV footage reportedly showed Dimmig entering the place with a bat and his wife was seen trying to push him away.
She was heard screaming "John! Stop! He's bleeding!" but Dimmig threatened the man to stay away from his wife, before leaving the place.
The CT technician, based in Arizona, was in Florida for work when he, admittedly, had taken the woman out for drinks before going to his Airbnb.
The man told the police that if Barbato had not stepped in, Dimmig would have killed him, adding that ‘ I felt like he was trying to murder me’.
Fox News reported that upon reaching the Airbnb, as alerted by Barbato, police saw the CT technician on a bed with towel over his bleeding head.
Police have questioned Dimmig as his wife reported that her husband had attacked the man. Dimmig told the police that he owned the bat which he said to have never used to hit anyone.
Police charged Dimmig with "attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and burglary with battery".
