Kozhikode: A native of Kozhikode Kuttichira has won the Microsoft Award for the second time in a row.

Mohammed Alfan, a leading data analyst, is recognised by Microsoft for his expertise. This is a rare recognition given annually by Microsoft to technologists who are willing to share their technical skills and knowledge with others. So far, only four people in India have received this award in the Tata Analytics category. Alfan was also on the list last year.

"The Microsoft MVP Award is an annual award that recognizes exceptional technology community leaders worldwide who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with users and Microsoft," said the recognition letter.

Alfan has received the award in Microsoft's 365 application category.

Alfan's name has been published on the MP Wall at the Microsoft headquarters in the US. He has been providing training in data analytics to students and teachers at Juvenile Homes in India, higher institutions in Bangalore, Ajman University, Khalifa University, and Qatar University in the Middle East. The book written by him on data analytics is the BBA textbook of Madras Christian College, Chennai. It was also included in Amazon's Top Sellers category.

"With just over 3,000 awardees worldwide, Microsoft MVPs represent a highly select group of experts. MVPs share a deep commitment to the community and a willingness to help others. They represent the diversity of today’s technical communities. MVPs are present in over 90 countries, in more than 40 languages, and across numerous Microsoft technologies," added the letter.

After working in an IT company, Alfan is doing research in the field of data analysis and is a trainer in the world's top organisations.

He is married to Rafa and has two children Sidan and Rahan.
