Mumbai: As per BCCI sources, former Indian cricketer and the 1983 World Cup squad member Roger Binny might become the next President of India's cricket board, Asian News International reported.

Binny had earlier served as a member of the board's selection committee. While Jay Shah is likely to continue being BCCI secretary, Binny is said to be the forerunner to take Sourav Ganguly's post.

The BCCI's Draft Electoral Rolls for the October 18 elections, posted by BCCI's website, has Binny's name. Also, his name appeared as a representative of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) on Thursday, replacing KSCA secretary Santosh Menon at the Annual General Meeting of BCCI. This has given rise to speculations that Binny, the former pacer, might replace Ganguly.

Further, there are also reports by sources that Ganguly might be India's representative for the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Chairman post. Nominations for the post can be filed on October 11 and 12th, while scrutiny of the same will be conducted on 13. Candidate can withdraw their nominations by October 14, and elections will be held on 18.
