Qatar and Japan have signed an exchange of official memoranda amending their Air Services Agreement.

The amendment includes an annex containing changes to the air route schedule between the two countries.

Mohammed bin Faleh Al Hajri, who is in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, signed the memorandum on behalf of Qatar.

Japanese Ambassador to Qatar Naoto Hisajima signed for Japan.

The agreement forms part of efforts by the two countries to strengthen co-operation in civil aviation.

It is also intended to support the development of air services and improve connectivity between Qatar and Japan.

The two sides said the signing would contribute to wider bilateral relations.

No details were provided about the route changes, flight frequencies or when the amended schedule would take effect.
