Nitish Kumar dumped BJP due to Prime Ministerial ambitions: Shah
text_fieldsLuria/ Bihar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has Prime Ministerial ambitions, and that is why he dumped BJP to join Congress and RJD, Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed on Saturday. Shah added that the said ambitions surface within Nitish every three years, PTI reported.
Speaking at a rally in Luria's Balmiki Nagar Lok Sabha constituency in West Champaran district in Bihar, Shah claimed that Nitish Kumar promised to make RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav the next chief minister. He said that Nitish Kumar must announce when he intends to do so.
He accused Nitish Kumar of bringing a 'jungle raj' to the state.
"After fighting his entire life, since the days of Jay Prakash Narayan, against the Congress and 'jungle raj', Nitish Kumar has allied with Lalu's RJD and Sonia Gandhi's Congress. He has become 'avsarwaadi' (opportunist) from being 'vikaswaadi' (pro-development) for his Prime Ministerial ambitions," he said.
"Enough of 'Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram', the BJP's doors are closed forever for Nitish," he said.
Shah reminded that BJP won far more seats in the last assembly polls than the JD(U), but Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Kumar another term in office as he promised.
The BJP's principal strategist, Shah, said, "Nitish and Lalu cannot pull Bihar out of the vortex of backwardness. It is high time that the BJP formed its own government in the state with a full majority. The tone can be set in the next Lok Sabha polls."
He said that the alliance of JD(U) and RJD is "unholy" and is like oil and water.
"Nitish Kumar can't stop demographic change in the border areas of Bihar. Elect Narendra Modi again in 2024 with a two-thirds majority, and we will put brakes on such attempts," he said.
Shah did not forget to mention the routine BJP poll-campaign literature, such as the surgical strike, the Balakot air strike, the abrogation of Article 370 and the ban on the Islamist organisation PFI.
