New Delhi: The Centre continues to chase the anti-CAA protesters even as the nation is under lockdown.

Protesters including women are being hunted by  Delhi police under the home ministry, just as authorities plan to release prisoners, considering the COVID-19 situation.

The latest to be thus nabbed by the police was Jamia Millia protest leader Safoora Zargar. Jamia Millia was the epicentre of the nationwide upheaval.

Police arrested Safoora accusing her of triggering anti-CAA protest at Jafrabad in north east Delhi.

Earlier police on April 2 arrested Meeran Haidar, researcher and youthwing leader of Rastriya Janata Dal.

Police said Safoora was arrested based on CCTV images of her standing near the Jafrabad metro station.

Delhi police joint Commissioner Alok Kumar accused Safoora Zargar of organising the protest at Jafrabad.
