text_fieldsNew Delhi: Sangh Parivar goons on Friday stopped Muslims from performing Jumua prayers at ten places. Hindutwa organisations blocked the prayer saying that public places cannot be used for namaz.
The right wing organisations here had blocked Jumua prayer at various places on 20th April as well. Police had arrested six persons in connection with the incident. Following the incident, the prayers were performed with police protection on 27th April.
Yesterday, members of organisations including Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Siva Sena, Hindu Jagaran Manj and Akhila Bharatiya Hindu Kranti Dal blocked the prayers.
In some areas where there are no mosques, Jumua is performed in government owned lands. However, the Hindutwa organisations alleged that Jumua prayer was performed in the public places to encroach the government lands.
