UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the exchange of several bilateral agreements during the UAE leader’s working visit to India.

The documents covered cooperation in defence, space, energy, food safety and investment.

A Letter of Intent on a Strategic Defence Partnership was exchanged between the two countries by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

In the space sector, the UAE Space Agency and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre signed a Letter of Intent to support space industry development and commercial cooperation. The document was exchanged by Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

ADNOC Gas and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited exchanged a Sales and Purchase Agreement, with the exchange carried out by Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Group CEO and India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri.

A Memorandum of Understanding on food safety and technical requirements was exchanged between the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority. Reem Al Hashimy and Vikram Misri exchanged the document.

A separate Letter of Intent on investment cooperation was exchanged between the UAE Ministry of Investment and the Government of Gujarat, focusing on the development of the Dholera Special Investment Region. The exchange was carried out by Minister of State Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri and Vikram Misri.

The exchanges took place as part of ongoing high-level engagements between the UAE and India.
