Dubai Airport leads as world’s busiest airport with 95.2m passengers in 2025
text_fieldsDubai International Airport retained its position as the world’s busiest international hub in 2025, marking its 12th consecutive year at the top as passenger traffic reached a new high.
The airport handled 95.2 million passengers during the year, an increase of 3.1 per cent compared with 2024 and 10.3 per cent above pre-pandemic levels in 2019, according to data released by Airports Council International (ACI).
The growth comes as Dubai recorded 19.59 million international overnight visitors in 2025, up 5 per cent year-on-year, figures from the Department of Economy and Tourism show. Expansion by Emirates, the world’s largest long-haul airline, also supported traffic at the airport.
DXB ranked second globally in total passenger traffic, behind Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which handled 106.3 million passengers. Tokyo Haneda Airport placed third.
ACI said the rankings reflect the continued importance of major airports in maintaining global air links, passenger flows and trade. The report also covered leading airports across international traffic, cargo volumes and aircraft movements.
Dubai International Airport remains a central hub in the global aviation network, supporting the movement of passengers and goods across key international routes.
