Abu Dhabi offers free vaccine for tourists

UAE's capital emirate, Abu Dhabi, is now administering free anti-covid vaccines to tourists visiting the emirate. Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) noted that holders of visit visas issued by Abu Dhabi and passport holders eligible for visas on arrival with an entry stamp, can book an appointment for vaccines.

The free vaccine service was previously limited to UAE citizens and residency visa holders, which is now open to visitors. Nearly 85 percent of the eligible population has been administered at least one vaccine dose in UAE, the health authorities said earlier this month.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee had updated a set of procedures earlier this year for those entering the emirate from within the country such as entry access is only given for those presenting a negative PCR/DPI test result taken within 48 hours. Another two PCR tests are also required on day four and day eight of entry into Abu Dhabi.

It is expected that Abu Dhabi may lift its 10-day quarantine measures for international travellers from the 'green countries' from July 1. The procedures for international arrivals to the emirate will be limited to PCR test results while for those coming from high-risk countries, there will be different travel protocols.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has called in for 'green pass' as shown in UAE's Alhosn app, which details the covid health status of a user, as the requirement for citizens and residents to enter public places.
