Riyadh: After 9,836 people signed up to learn first aid in 24 hours, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority's "Saving a Soul" awareness campaign made the humanitarian society get a Guinness World Record, Arab News reported.

Saudi Press Agency reported that the people signed for the learning first aid and how to use automated external defibrillators (AED) through the campaign.

Abdulaziz Al-Suwaine, the spokesperson for the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, said that the campaign held in Riyadh Front saw a large attendance, including citizens and residents. He said that authorities had installed defibrillators in many places, aiming to save lives.

According to Al-Suwaine, the campaign was a success and opined that such a large turnout on short notice testifies how responsible Saudi society is as well as their will to be humanitarian level individuals.
