The EV Auto Show in Riyadh, running through Oct. 29, is drawing international participation as the Kingdom’s electric vehicle sector continues to grow.

Among this year’s exhibitors is Bako Motors, a Tunisian firm recognized for developing affordable and solar-powered EVs. The company presented its Bako B1 electric tricycle, built for last-mile delivery and urban transport.

The B1 features a solar roof that provides up to 50 kilometers of free driving daily, cutting dependence on charging stations. It also offers a 2,000-liter cargo capacity, targeting logistics and delivery operators looking to replace fossil fuel-powered fleets with cleaner options.

Bako Motors’ appearance at the Riyadh show signals its regional expansion strategy. The company has announced plans to establish operations in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Qatar, in line with Vision 2030’s focus on clean energy and sustainable mobility.

Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, Bako Motors’ business development and manufacturing lead in Saudi Arabia, said the firm aims to support the Kingdom’s sustainability efforts through locally driven production and innovation.
