Early preparations for Hajj 2027 and projects intended to ease pilgrims’ journeys were reviewed by the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah at a meeting chaired by Deputy Emir of Makkah Prince Saud bin Mishaal.

The committee also examined services for the ongoing Umrah season, including the work of agencies supporting visitors to the Grand Mosque.

The meeting on Wednesday was held under the directives of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah and chairman of the committee.

Discussions focused on providing the facilities pilgrims need to perform their rituals comfortably and with ease.

The committee reviewed operations at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and its readiness to serve 65 million passengers annually.

Members examined check-in and passenger processing facilities, health centres, air-conditioned rest areas and welcome halls provided for pilgrims.

The review also covered progress on development projects intended to improve the pilgrimage journey ahead of Hajj 2027.

The committee considered other items on its agenda and adopted the necessary recommendations.
