Riyadh: LuLu Hypermarket has announced its partnership of the ongoing first Saudi International Marine Exhibition & Conference (SIMEC), which is in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 for sustainable development in the fisheries sector.

The first diversified marine exhibition event, specialised in fisheries, aquaculture and seafood in Saudi Arabia, is going on at Riyadh Hilton Hotel. The event sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and monitored by the National Fisheries Development Programme, started on January 30 and will end on February 1.

The event features LuLu's activities promoting seafood, along with the expertise of many working in the fisheries and field. Lulu will showcase an information kiosk as well as live cooking points demonstrating the preparation of seafood. LuLu has facilities to store locally caught fish worldwide and stock them, including at least 80 varieties.

Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, KSA handing over a memento to Shehim Mohammed, Director of LuLu Hypermarkets, Saudi.

LuLu Saudi Director Shehim Mohammed said that seafood is gathering fame in the Kingdom and is a significant element of Saudi's food security and nutrition sectors.

LuLu works with the Saudi fishing department and its fleets to gather the best varieties of fish for its seafood divisions, he said. The event will help all the stakeholders scientifically explore the potential of seafood, he added.

Countries of Oman, UAE, Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Yemen, Qatar, Iraq, Egypt and the Republic of Somalia participated in the Expo. Also, many domestic, international companies attended the event.
