Kuwait has condemned repeated Iranian attacks on the country, including the latest incident early on Thursday, describing them as a serious breach of its sovereignty.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the continuing attacks posed a direct threat to Kuwait’s security and stability, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents.

It said the actions violated international law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.

The ministry described the attacks as aggressive conduct and a dangerous escalation that could threaten security and stability across the region.

It also said the repeated incidents were systematically harming diplomatic efforts to ease tensions.

Kuwait reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, territory and vital facilities from any attack or threat, the ministry said.

It cited Article 51 of the UN Charter, which recognises the right of countries to self-defence.

The latest statement follows reports that Kuwaiti air defences responded to missile and drone threats early on Thursday.
