Riyadh: Saudi Food and Drugs Authority (SFDA) issued guidelines to place the information on drugs in the medicine package to be in Braille.

The SFDA aims to enable blind or visually impaired people to identify the general information about drugs, as well as the right ways to use and side effects.

The new step taken by SFDA will also raise the level of drug awareness for the blind and visually impaired.

SFDA pointed out that issuing the guidelines comes as part of its endeavor to develop mechanisms to meet the needs of all community members.
