Seven restaurants led by Indian chefs feature on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 extended list
text_fieldsSeven restaurants led by Indian chefs have been featured in the 51-100 extended list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026, highlighting the growing influence of Indian culinary talent across the region.
The rankings were selected by more than 350 culinary experts from across Asia and span 27 cities.
Four of the recognised restaurants are located in India.
Papa’s in Mumbai ranked 66 on the list. Chef Hussain Shahzad offers an unconventional fine dining experience with a tasting menu that reimagines familiar Indian flavours. One example is mawa khaja transformed into a cronut filled with burnt honey custard and brunost.
Another Mumbai restaurant, The Table, ranked 73. Known for its global approach, the restaurant serves sharing plates inspired by cuisines from Asia, Europe, and the Americas, including dishes such as yellowfin tuna tataki, pork belly buns, and shrimp dumplings in a spicy ginger broth.
In New Delhi, Inja secured the 75th spot. Chef Adwait Anantwar blends Indian and Japanese traditions in dishes such as shiso leaf tuna with pomelo chaat and lobster rasam chawanmushi.
Farmlore in Bengaluru ranked 83. Founded by chef Johnson Ebenezer and Kaushik Raju, the restaurant offers a farm-to-table dining experience with only 18 seats and focuses on sustainability and local produce grown on the surrounding farm.
Three other restaurants led by Indian chefs abroad also made the list.
Thevar in Singapore ranked 58 and is run by chef Mano Thevar, who combines his Penang roots with Indian influences in a modern tasting menu.
In Bangkok, chef Garima Arora’s Gaa ranked 95 with a seasonal tasting menu inspired by Indian and Thai cuisines.
Also in Bangkok, Haoma by chef Deepanker Khosla ranked 96 and is known for its zero-waste, farm-to-table philosophy.
The full list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 will be announced on March 25 in Hong Kong in partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
