World cup celebrations turn chaotic in Kerala, police attacked, one stabbed

The 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar virtually left Kerala in a state of wild excitement with fans spending night watching final match in groups across several places in the state.
A civil police officer was attacked in Kochi's Kaloor by fans after the officer asked them to stop blocking the traffic.
The football fans, celebrating Argentina's win, were blocking the road causing chaos when the officer intervened.
He was dragged on the road after he questioned them, according to India Today.
In Kannur a 24-year-old man was stabbed as he was returning home after watching the match between Argentina and France.
Anurag was attacked reportedly by five people as the fight was broken out after screening of the match near the Palliyamoola Nethaji Arts and Sports Club.
Anurag who is critically injured is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kannur.
A friend of Anurag's was also attacked with a cricket stump after he tried to stop the fight.
After police tried to stop a drunken group creating ruckus, police officers were attacked and the Sub Inspector of Pozhiyoor station was injured in Thiruvananthapuram.
