New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu removed Arif Mohammed Khan as Kerala governor in a key reshuffle of state governors. Khan, who was in a protracted public tussle with the Left government in Kerala led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, will be replaced by Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who was the governor of Bihar.

Meanwhile, Khan has been appointed as the fresh governor of Bihar.

In the fresh change in five states, Murmu has appointed two new governors while reassigning three others on Tuesday, including the Kerala-Bihar shuffle.

She appointed Ajay Kumar Bhalla as the new Governor of Manipur, replacing Anusuiya Uikey, The Indian Express reported. Bhalla will be taking charge of Manipur while the ethnic strife that broke in the state last year remains unresolved and governance in chaos.

The governor of Mizoram, Hari Babu Kambhampati, has been transferred to Odisha, while General Dr Vijay Kumar Singh will now serve as the Governor of Mizoram.
