Former minister leader Kutty Ahammed Kutty passes away

Tanur: Former minister and Muslim League leader Kutty Ahammed Kutty (72) passed away. In 2004, he was the Minister of Local Self Government in the Oommen Chandy-led UDF government. Kutty Ahammed Kutty became the MLA from Tanur in 1992 by-election and from Tirurangadi in 1996 and 2001.

He has held the posts of President of Muslim League Tanur constituency, President of STU Malappuram District and Chairman of Tirur MSM Polytechnic Governing Body. He rose to the leadership level as the constituency president of Tanur.

He was mostly in the leadership of STU, the Muslim League's trade union. He was the Malappuram district president and Malappuram district panchayat standing committee chairman. Earlier, he was seriously injured in a car accident. After a serious neck injury, he withdrew from active politics.

Kutty is survived by his wife and three children.
