Visuals show man deliberately driving car over boy in Thiruvananthapuram
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: An incident of death of a Class 10 student which was earlier thought to have happened after an accident, is now understood to be a murder with the visuals from the scene showing it was a planned one.
On August 30, a 15-year-old boy named Shekhar, a class 10 student, was run over by a car in front of the Pulingode Bhadrakali temple at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident is believed to be a revenge-driven act stemming from a dispute.
Shekhar, the son of Arunkumar, a teacher at Poovachal Pulingode Arunodaya, had reportedly confronted the driver, Priyaranjan, who was seen in an inebriated state urinating on the temple's wall. This confrontation allegedly escalated into a heated argument.
A shocking turn of events unfolded when Priyaranjan's car struck the young boy who was cycling near the temple premises.
After the death was deemed a result of the accident, the situation took a sinister turn when CCTV footage of the incident was examined, raising suspicions of foul play. Priyaranjan, who runs a tattoo centre in Dubai and is a close relative of Shekhar, is now the prime suspect in the case. However, he remains at large as the authorities intensify efforts to locate and apprehend him.
