Thiruvananthapuram: Ernakulum district collector submitted a report to Chief Minister in the lathi-charge on Eldo Abraham and other leaders, citing police lapses, also averring that the situation of an MLA having been beaten could have avoided.

Collector S.Suhas’ report could lead to actions against police officers involved in the incident. In the report, the collector is known to have enumerated lapses made by the police.

Knowing full well of possible violence, police failed to bring in an official with magisterial powers to the place.

Precautions should have taken if actions including lathi-charge were in need of.  The police failed to recognize MLA and other leaders during the action.  The report is being studied at the Chief Minister’s office.

Officials including Jnarakal C.I and SOA, who are reportedly to have triggered the incident, would face action. A decision in this regard would be taken as the chief minister returns from Delhi.

The collector’s report details injuries that the MLA had sustained during the action. Meanwhile, Eldo Abraham had handed to the collector a C.T Scan report from Muvatupuzha hospital, citing a fracture in his arm.

The Collector attached this scan details in his report to CM.
