ED also examined the IT returns and bank documents presented by Vellappally who was accompanied by his son and state BDJS leader Thushar Vellappally.
The session was held following complaints that Vellappally Natesan had made large scale havala transactions from abroad three years ago. In addition to this complaint and allegations that surfaced related to this, ED scrutinized the transactions and documents, and the exercise was to ascertain the facts in the complaint, said the ED officials.
The officials also informed that there was no evidence supporting the content of the complaints and no case was registered against him. There had also been allegations that there were huge investments in his and his family's names across five countries. ED made enquiries about this too.
